This section provides concise answers to common questions about BOOSTSCIENCE, its objectives, activities, consortium, and expected impact on Natural Sciences education in Ukraine.

BOOSTSCIENCE is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project focused on modernising Natural Sciences education in Ukraine. Its full title is Boosting Education Quality and Entrepreneurial Mindsets for Natural Sciences in Ukraine. The project runs for 36 months and aims to strengthen the quality, relevance, and labour-market orientation of Biology and Chemistry education.

The main goal of BOOSTSCIENCE is to develop an innovative interdisciplinary master-level module for Biology and Chemistry students in Ukraine, helping them acquire digital, practical, research, green, and entrepreneurial skills that improve employability and support post-war recovery.

BOOSTSCIENCE responds to the urgent need to modernise higher education in Ukraine under wartime conditions, especially in fields such as Biology and Chemistry, where practical training is difficult to deliver remotely. The project supports resilience, digitalisation, and stronger connections between universities and the labour market.

The project is mainly designed for master-level students in Biology and Chemistry, as well as academic and administrative staff of participating Ukrainian higher education institutions. It also involves research organisations and companies to reinforce labour-market relevance.

BOOSTSCIENCE improves employability by aligning education with current market needs, introducing entrepreneurial training, connecting students with companies and research institutions, and developing applied learning experiences through virtual labs, problem-based activities, and work-related challenges.

Expected results include one new interdisciplinary module, five laboratory topics, the modernisation of 10 master courses or programmes, upskilling of more than 200 students, and training for academic and administrative staff in participating Ukrainian universities.

According to the project indicators, BOOSTSCIENCE is expected to reach around 500 people overall, including students, academic staff, and administrative staff, with more than 200 students directly following the updated courses or study programmes.

Yes. BOOSTSCIENCE includes sustainability actions so that the developed module, digital materials, and cooperation frameworks can continue to be used by Ukrainian institutions after the project lifetime.

The project contributes to long-term impact by improving the quality and relevance of Natural Sciences education, supporting digital transformation, strengthening university-business links, and helping Ukrainian HEIs become more resilient, innovative, and competitive.
